Many thanks! I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the local birds.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I spend at least one day a week going to Bombay Hook. There is so much to see but have to really look. Some of the birds really blend well with the foliage.

Thanks.... these bald eagles nest every year at the botanical garden near where I live. They have even set up a nest cam so that we could watch the eggs hatch and the babies grow!

Well, I live near Emory/CDC...so I'm already IN Atlanta! Our address is Decatur, but a mile away people have Atlanta addresses. Do they have birds at the show? My kids would love that. We go to cat and dog shows on occasion too. I get new feeders all of the time. Sometimes to try them, sometimes to spruce up the look out there. The latest was from Petsmart...cedar hopper with a red roof. Super simple and not too expensive. Sometimes I'm too lazy to clean them out properly, so I just get a new one. Love your pictures! Someday I'll learn to take ones like that. Oh, and I have a picture of an owl (2 live in the cypress trees in the back, once saw one catch a rat!) on my deck one day when he must have been ousted by screeching parents.

Oh, I have Goldfinches too!! (not so many at the moment, but they came through). And Mrs. Rose Breasted Grosbeak migrated through too.

It's awesome! There is so much activity lately with all the nesters. Too many chipmunks and squirrels under the feeders this year, but the baffle works wonderfully. The feeders are being emptied so quickly, it's great. I have a parent and child downy woodpecker, baby cardinal, baby bluebirds (from my first brood), two bluebird nests in boxes, a male and female hummingbird this year (usually just one female for the duration with other passersby), a baby towhee, I even saw a gray bird and black bird this year...first time I've seen them. I set up a suet feeder with a hanging basket. It has done wonders for being more inviting to many more birds. The baby bluebirds love to catch the droppings from it in the basket. Oh, and two baby thrashers this year too. Nuthatches (white breasted AND brown capped) are coming by, and the chickadees have one or 2 babies as well. Does that sound busy enough!? (there are many more that I didn't mention too) Thanks for asking!
